The Aprilia RSV Mille 60-degree V-Twin
No, you can't see too much of the engine in this picture...it's pretty well
hidden behind that beautiful frame.
But you can see the fuel injection throttle bodies, and the
valve covers, etc...pretty cool. The picture on the right is from a
magazine; even though it's small you can get the idea of the engine's layout.
This thing is an absolute locomotive from 5,000 - 9,000 rpm. It hasn't got
the top-end "hit" of an inline four, but man, the midrange is just
AMAZING!
P.S. Not one Aprilia Mille suffered a mechanical problem in the
entire World Superbike Series last year...a bulletproof engine (try that on
your 4-valve Ducati:-) The picture below shows the V990 prior to cam
removal while adjusting the valves.
